Storyline:
It's 1971. Cathy Rush is a woman ahead of her time, and she's about to embark on an adventure for the ages. A new era is dawning in the country and in collegiate athletics, where a national champion will be crowned for the first time in women's basketball. In the lead up to this historical season, major universities are preparing their game plans to win that first title. Meanwhile a tiny all-women's Catholic college in Philadelphia has a more modest goal: find a coach before the season begins. Providentially, Cathy Rush is about to find Immaculata College. Recently married, Cathy is dealing with the aftermath of a truncated playing career. While cultural norms would have her staying at home, she's willing to do the hard work necessary to help her new team reach their goals-or perhaps she's just trying to achieve her unfulfilled dreams through them. From the beginning, her challenges are as imposing as the big-school teams Immaculata will face on the court. Cathy learns there is no ...

As a graduate of IC (now IU) I was happy to see the campus again. As an alum of about the same era as the story takes place I was tickled to be able to pick out the things that were accurately portrayed from that time. They got it mostly right. The story was fantastic too. And the moral of the story:Believe in your dreams and don't be sidetracked by the "practical" things, was inspiring. Go see it!

In today's world of bigger and better, sensation after sensation, we sometimes forget the simpler times when teamwork and personal achievement counted for something. This little gem of a film does just that. It reminds us that you don't have to be beautiful, you don't have to be smart, you don't even have to have money. As long as you believe in yourself others will too. This was a fine film, based on a true story, not some writer's imagination. For once, casting was as close to perfect as it gets. The visuals needed a little work but pass. Don't expect a blockbuster here, or some over the top "winning against all odds" ego parade. This movie's genuine and heartfelt, well worth an evening of your time and its ticket price. It's in a different family from the majority of films made today. This one?s a portrait of one life, memorialized through achievement, a life whose legacy is having made other lives better. See it. You won't be disappointed.

I saw the movie at the premiere last night in Hollywood and had a chance to hear from the Director, Tim Chambers and some of the cast (Carla & Marley). I can tell you that this is a "Must See" Movie. It had the spirit and emotions of Rudy, but with more emphasis on "the Team" and the desire and belief to overcome all odds, not only in sports but in life. Thanks for bringing together a labor of love onto the big screen for all to experience. There's much more to this movie than just the previews and all the normal movie hype. But when you hear the real inspiration and hard work that went into this story, you'll want to see it over and over again. Forget about all the negative reviews from the so-called movie critics and go out and support this type of movie - inspirational, heart wrenching, edge-of-your-seats, family friendly movie. It sure beats 90% of the movies out there and a must see.

Went to see Meghan Sabia in "The Mighty Macs" yesterday with my daughter & we BOTH enjoyed it from the time we walked up to the cinema & were greeted by old friends, to meeting the actual star (who seems to be SUCH a BEAUTIFUL,TALENTED Woman INSIDE & OUT),to sitting nearby & around some of my near & dear High School friends. This movie depicted how it was "back in the day." The writers did a great job showing the good, the bad & what was most important in a Catholic School full of girls.A lot of funny moments & good lessons to be learned by the lead characters. Kudos. The actors were AWESOME.Also, you can't go wrong with Ellen Burnstein as Mother Superior-she DID win an Oscar for her role in 'The Excorcist.'

"The MIght Macs" is a must see movie for all generations and all genders. You laugh, cry, and applaud. Even though you might know what happens at the end, since it is based on a true story, it is great to watch and learn how they got there. The movie sucks you in and makes you want to be a better person. I plan on seeing it again. On a personal note, one of the women on the 1972 team was my 4th grade teacher in 1974. We all new she was on "The Mighty Macs" but as a kid you don't remember too much about her success. It was so nice to see how hard they worked and how they accomplished what they did. Unfortunately, my 4th grade teacher passed away in 1980 from cancer. So everytime I see an advertisement on this movie, I think of her and I smile.
